Where are the classes held?

Classes are held at either the Bass Pro Shop (Independence, MO), the Mazuma Credit Union located at 615 W Foxwood Drive or an alternate training location if the Credit Union isn’t available.
Where does the class shoot?

Bass Pro students shoot at the Bass Pro range. The Mazuma class will shoot at a private outdoor shooting range located about 10-15 minutes from Mazuma Credit Union.
How many students are there per class?

Per Missouri regulations we can only instruct 40 students in one class room. The typical class size is 20-25 students.
How long does the class last?

It is strongly recommended to arrive 15 minutes early. All classes runs from 9:00am – 6:00pm with a 10 minute break every hour along with time for lunch.
What states or counties are the instructors certified in?

Our instructors are certified in Kansas and Missouri. Within the state of Missouri our instructors are certified a majority of the counties. If you live in a county we are not certified in please let us know so that we can accommodate you. County information is typically obtained before class starts and verified on the day of class.
Are there any additional fees beyond class payment?

There are no additional fees for the class, however there will be a fee at the Sheriff office in the amount of no more than $100.00 and $13 – $15 at the license bureau.
Do I need my own gun?

No, however if you are not taking classes at the Bass Pro location, you are allowed to bring your own gun and ammunition to the range. All we ask is that you bring factory ammo (no re-loads) and we inspect your gun before firing.

No gun – no problem. We provide .22 caliber handguns along with ammunition, hearing and eye protection for you at no additional cost. If taking classes at Bass Pro, everyone is required to use our guns.

Remember NO FIREARM is allowed in Bass Pro or Mazuma Credit Union classrooms.
How many states honor the Missouri or Kansas CCW?

The Missouri permit is currently honored by 37 states. For the latest information, check with the state Attorney General’s Office.

The Kansas permit is currently honored by 24 states. For the latest information, check with the state Attorney General’s Office.
How many rounds do we have to qualify with and what distance do we shoot from?

For Missouri, you will shoot from both a semi-automatic and revolver pistol. You will shoot a total of 100 rounds to practice from a distance of 21 feet (7 yards) and then you will qualify with 20 rounds from each handgun at the same distance.

For Kansas, you will shoot with a semi-automatic pistol. You will shoot a total of 25 rounds in the following format; one handed at 3 yards, two handed at 7 yards, and two handed at 10 yards.
